Horse Training and Re-education

Do you need your horse exercised while you are away or further educated? Maybe your horse has been out of work for some time and it needs some tuning? Are you looking to take that next step in your riding but not quite sure how to get there with your horse? Or do you just want your horse to do some extra miles?

Tayor is available to exercise and educate your horse on short or long term requirements. Not only do we focus on your horses education and training, we make sure you, as a rider, feel competent and knowledgeable to be able to take your horse home and continue their training.

BREAKING AND STARTING

Tayor starts horses for all disciplines, whether it be trail riding, pleasure, western, jumping or dressage. A good foundation is everything and Tayor takes pride in getting solid basics both on the ground and under saddle on all horses broken in, no matter the discipline chosen for your horse.

When it comes to breaking in horses, it is important in every step of the process that the horse learns to accept and enjoy all that will be taught, not just tolerate it.

Every horse that comes in for starting under saddle is different and therefore the time needed for each horse varies. Every young horse progresses at their own pace; breeding, physical strength, conformation, mental maturity, trainability, temperament and attitude, all play a big part in how they break in.

We generally take the horses for breaking for a minimum 6 weeks. The horse will be ready to go home when both Tayor and the owner are happy that they are confident on the ground and riding their horse. Tayor will communicate with you throughout the whole process to keep you up to date with where your horse is at and how they are progressing. Leaving a horse longer than 6 weeks will enable Tayor to put a more solid foundation in to the breaking in process.
